history:
Jason Wilde is the oldest child of Kellan and Beatrice Wilde. His mother is a witch and his father a muggle, but that didn't have too much of an impact on his upbringing. He was raised to know about both worlds, as were his younger brother and sister. His brother was born two years after Jason. The two were pretty average as far as brotherly relationships went – they were close but argued constantly, always trying to one-up the other and competing for the attention of their parents. Because they were only two years apart in age, they shared many of the same friends. When Jason was seven their sister was born and then the brothers argued over who liked or disliked her more (depending on whatever option suited their current needs).

When he was eleven he got his letter to Hogwarts. No surprise there, since he had, like most wizard children, showed magical ability already. He was more than excited to start the new chapter in his life and teased his brother that he was getting to go off to school to learn magic. He knew that Benjamin would probably join him in two years, but he liked being the first of the siblings to go to school, even if it was only because he was the oldest. Jason was sorted into Gryffindor and almost immediately found that he had a knack for Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, and Transfiguration. He also realized that while he could get by in the subject, he was not good at Potions or Herbology. When he got to start picking his classes he learned that he absolutely hated Divination (and promptly dropped the course).

Just before his fourth year he and his brother were having a pretend duel. Well, they called it pretend but they were using actual spells. His brother had just turned twelve and Jason felt like he had to show off just a little bit. His brother had been sorted into Gryffindor the previous year and it had only brought more competition between them. In any case, the two were having a good time throwing mostly harmless hexes and curses at each other when their sister ran out. Jason was distracted and accidentally preformed the curse stronger than he had intended. Grace got in the way when Benjamin moved to defend himself and she was hit square in the chest. Jason and his brother both received warnings for their use in magic but that was the least of their worries. The curse sent Grace to St Mungo's for almost an entire year.

Other than that, Jason's life went on as planned. When he was sixteen his Transfiguration teacher approached him about becoming an animagus and he began taking extra classes to learn how to turn into an animal. He registered with the Ministry as a student learning the ability and when he finally mastered the skill he took the form of a white tiger. His animal form was a little on the small side for a tiger, but he had beautiful markings and his blue eyes stood out even more against the white fur. He continued through his school career and finished his classes, doing well in the classes he liked and only passing in the ones that he didn't like so much. His sister was sorted into Gryffindor during Jason's last year as well, making the entire family a member of the same house.

Directly after Hogwarts Jason began training to be an Auror. He trained for a year and was an official Auror when he turned nineteen. His job allowed him to travel and he gained a lot of life experience. He continued in this field until he was twenty-three. Just before he turned twenty-three, he learned of a job opening at Hogwarts. He was intrigued by the idea of being a professor and he knew he had more than enough experience for the job. So he applied and got the position. His brother had already graduated from the school, but his sister was still a sixth year so he got the priviledge of teaching her, which was difficult at first because he felt incredibly protective over her (especially since having almost killed her in his teenage years). But he found that he really did love the teaching job and is now, at the age of twenty-four, in his second year as Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. He is also the only person so far since the curse from You-Know-Who to hold more than one term as the DADA professor.
