height: 5'8"
weight: 138 lbs.
general description:Bast likes to think of herself and her looks as average. Light brown hair, fair complexion. An average height and decent enough looks. Average. There are only two things she would consider not normal but still awesome. One, her blue eyes. They stand out from the crowd and are very much unlike her family's dark, hazel eyes. Like her brother's eyes they are quite expressive but the difference is that she has better control over them. Two, her very muscular frame. Bast keeps in shape and more. And while she doesn't have bulging muscles, she does have the strength and power an athlete has. Not a well trained one, but one nonetheless.
face claim: Kacey Rohl- - - - - - -
likes: Fairness, chocolate, her Patronus, flying, physicalness, a good lap dance, magical creatures, and hanging out with her twin.
dislikes: Super hot days, pure silence, people who view the world as simply black and white, small spaces, being told what to do, keeping still, berry teas and being underestimated.
strengths: Her persistence, quick learning skills, physical strength, her patronus and apparition.
weaknesses: Stubbornness, bottling emotions inside, lack of care for herself, and (possibly) overestimating others.
dementor: Her time at Azkaban, especially the riots.
boggart: Losing control over herself
mirror of erised: To have a fairer, more open minded world. To raise an awesome family and die happy. To have someone to rely on besides her brother.
amortentia: Forest, bread dipped in hot cocoa, libraries and cold ocean winds.
veritaserum She has a sadistic side that could equal, if not be stroger, than her brother's. She is a Parseltongue.- - - - - - -
mother:Lilith Leporarius
father:Zeno Leporarius
siblings:Fraser Leporarius (twin brother)
pets:Cookie the Kelpie and Mister the Gray hound. (She has a permit for Cookie and uses her for some of her classes.)
history:
The story of everyone's favorite lesbian professor begins in a pureblood household with pureblood parents and a pureblood twin. Her family wasn't as stuck up like most other pureblood families however. They were a family of messengers, their purpose was to spread news among the magical community so they weren't as discriminatory.
Bast and her brother grew up alright. They had their needs taken care of and more. Their parents were alright, a bit detached but it never bothered the witch much. She loved her freedom and practiced it on a daily basis. At first, it was just the forest surrounding their home. She would wander the forest, climb trees, observe wildlife and make friends with a few snakes she managed to find. It wasn't until later that she found out how frowned upon it was. After that her special ability was kept secret with only her brother knowing the truth.
Soon, the Leporarius forest could no longer satisfy young Bast's adventurous nature. The young girl started venturing out of the family's estate entirely and into the Muggle world. A small Muggle park to be exact. It took awhile but eventually she would play with the other kids, learning all sorts of non-wizarding games but those days were forced to an end as she got her letter to Hogwarts.
The young pureblood was sorted into Hufflepuff. Strange, right? A parseltongue being a badger. Maybe that was for the better though. Bast would be lying if she said she didn't consider using her power to intimidate others and perhaps she would've if she was sorted into Slytherin. Her time as a Hufflepuff confirmed her belief in justice and using those powers would have lead her into a much darker life. She still has her dark side and it battles with her constantly but she's able to contain it. How long it'l last however is another story.
Besides the whole 'confirming her life thing,' school was uneventful. She joined the Quidditch team as a chaser and became the captain of the team in her sixth year. Passed her Care of Magical Creatures and DADA NEWTs with flying colors then that was it. There was the flings and occasional girlfriends which was cool but nothing serious. Bast preferred it that way.
While her brother went into journalism, the newly graduated witch hopped from job to job. It wasn't until Fraser was having difficulty getting information that she finally decided upon a career. Bast decided to become a guard for the high security prison of Azkaban. After the war the Ministry no longer trusted the dementors so they added human guards to also keep a watch on the prison. A two year post where having a full, corporeal Patronus was a necessity.
That requirement was easy to fulfill. Coming from a family of magical messengers, the Patronus charm along with many other spells related to transportation and passing messages came easy to her. The thestral was her guardian and only friend during those two long years. Bast served her time, got her payroll, gave information to her brother and left. Stronger yet emotionally scarred. To this day, she suffers from bad sleeping fits and insomnia from that time. She can't even consider sleeping without having her Patronus around. Thus, that spell is her strongest one. From constant use, the witch is able to do things with that spell that many others can't. However, even her powers are at a limit. Her guardian disappears as soon as the nightmares begin and she's unable to conjure another one for at least two hours if she's feeling better. One of the reasons why she has a large stash of chocolate in her home.
Moving on. Bast wasn't unemployed for long. Hogwarts offered her a job a month after she left Azkaban as a D.A.D.A. professor. Her experience as a guard qualified her as almost perfect for the job despite the fact she had a higher interest and better test scores in Magical Creatures. But, the young witch accepted the job graciously and continues to teach her students to the best of her ability. It wouldn't be home without her dear gray hound so a bit of a compromise was given to her. She currently stays in a nice, roomy tent on the school's grounds with her pets. It gives her less of a chance to socialize with her fellow teachers but it has its benefits. Secrets are easier to keep that way.- - - - - - -

sample:
It took approximately fifteen seconds for Bast to realize someone was indeed there and was talking to her. It took ten more seconds for her to actually understand the words and attempt to respond. The fast, hard to understand speech didn't bother her in the slightest and was able to somewhat understand what the stranger was trying to say. Many thought it was just good hearing but it was actually just Bast understanding what things meant by how they were spoken. In other words, she more easily picked up things based on tone, body language and context. Of course, body language couldn't really apply to this situation since she couldn't exactly see anything besides the ground near her face. This skill was probably picked up from situations like these, people wanting to talk to her from far away distances and the fact that she enjoyed listening to music at its highest volume. Useful in understanding simple sentences but disastrous with details.
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. I'll get up in a sec." Bast took in a deep breath then jumped up, her body screaming in protest. The only sign that the action hurt, however, was her long groan and stiff movements. "See? Perfectly fine." She let out a grin and examined the wizard in front of her once her head stopped spinning. Gryffindor, obviously by his robes, and rather wimpy. At least in Bast's opinion. He didn't seem very confident and his body position made him seem submissive and quite awkward. Her grin widened. Yup, she definitely liked this guy already. Silently, the badger wondered if he had met her twin yet. He seemed Fraser's type. Wait. Waaait. Bast took a closer inspection of the lion, taking in his height, hair color and other such physical features. Was this... was this the dude Frase had been daydreaming about in class?
This realization almost made her choke and nearly topple over from the coughing fit that happened as a result of that. She knew too much of what her twin wanted from this guy and had seen a bit more of this guy than she would wish. She made a mental note to send Fraser a bunch of daydreams about one of his classmates. Revenge for what she was going through at the moment.
