history:
addie was born in a hospital, like most normal kids were, but her parents knew she was different from everyone else, just like them. she was the 'weird kid' in school, and didn't have very many friends. she moved on to 5th grade without any friends, so basically, she had no friends. all throughout her school life, she never had a single friend. she sat alone in the cafeteria, she was given a wide berth in the halls, and was alone when getting her books from her locker. nobody liked her, they just thought her a bully dummy to practice on before the new kids arrived. she was kinda like a new kid, every time she went back to school every day. but everything changed after she got her letter from hogwarts before she turned 11. she was so happy, nothing mattered in school anymore. she was still bullied, but it was like she was in a different world. after her first year at hogwarts, she took her wand with her to school every day, in case someone threatened her for real. she tried to scare the bullies away with it, but that just made them tease her more. now, she just totally ignores them, and she thinks that eventually, they'll stop bugging her. she has a very strong connection with her mother, and loves her very much. she enjoyed doing stuff with her mother. but her father... he was a different story. her and him didn't get along, and he was gone most of the time, off, doing stuff, without her. so addie focused all her love on her mother, and never gave a second thought about her father, george. so, without a father, but a overpoweringly loving mother, addie has been going to hogwarts, 4 years, this being her 5th. she loves magic and everything involved in it, and can become a totally different person due to it. let the magic take you places too.- - - - - - -

sample:
as addie walks back to the house, giggling with her mum, adrisa, she stops dead in her tracks as a huge, looming figure hovers in front of them, addie would know that figure anywhere;
dad.
looking up, blue eyes challenging, addie stares boldly at her father, waiting for him to make the first move. but instead, adrisa does.
"george! oh honey, I missed you so much!" she rushed forward to embrace her husband, who steps away. addie narrows her eyes.
"just as I remember him, a sour old man, waiting for things to magically change and click right into place, but magic doesn't work like that, and it never will." addie mutters, stepping closer to her father. "and you smell, just like last time." she spat bitterly, remembering the night as if it was yesterday. her father then picks the time to sigh and look tired.
"look. I came to say I'm sorry, but not to your mother, to you, addie. I'm sorry we never got along, I'll try to make up to it." he had spoken those words too many times,and addie didn't fall for them anymore. instead, she crossed her arms and looked at her mum, who had a pleading look on her face.
"I've heard those words too many times, I'm not falling for it this time," she muttered, averting her gaze from her mother to her aqua sneakers. her father huffed, and she looked up. he looked like he was about to explode. "go." was the simple word that uttered itself from addie's lips. she thought it, and it slipped out of her mouth. "go, your not worth my trust anymore. just get out of here." she was almost screaming now, her rage bursting out like inferno, scorching everything in it's path. it was then that she pulled her wand out, and pointed it at her father, her blue eyes narrowed into slits. her father stumbled back and adrisa leaped in front of him.
"addison! how dare you? he's your father, give him a chance." adrisa's eyes pleaded with her, and addie lowered her wand with a frustrated sigh. putting it back in her pocket, she crossed her arms and pushed past her mum and dad, stomping into the house, which was surprisingly, unlocked. slamming the door behind her, she ran upstairs and flopped down on her bed. staring at all the hogwarts quidditch posters and smiling photos of her and her mum, addie realised her father wasn't part of the family anymore, and he was trying to become a part of it again. maybe I should give him a shot... but remember what he did to me? that was horrible. addie's thoughts fought in her head, like the angel and the devil bickering on her shoulders. shaking her head, she cleared the buzzing of voices and went downstairs to eat supper with the whole crew. silence filled the room as everyone ate, and after she ate, addie put her dishes in the sink and trudged back upstairs, without saying a single word to either of her parents. collapsing on her bed, she felt herself sink in and longed for hogwarts, where she would be away from both her parents. closing her eyes, addie soon fell into a deep, dreamless sleep, wanting to stay that way until she left for hogwarts in september.
