BROOKE HAYLEY ROBERTS
name: Brooke Hayley Roberts
age/year: Seventeen / Seventh

house/occupation: Gryffindor
bloodstatus: Muggle-born

general description: You get the haughtiness from first glance: her eyes are almond-shaped and constantly narrowed, as she judges those surrounding her. They are a cold grey-blue colour like pebble, and rarely give away any indication of emotion unless its disgust or contempt. Brooke has long, fine ash-blonde hair that she usually wears scraped back into a pony tail at the top of her head. It usually whips back and forth as she strides past and is so tight that not a single strand breaks free. It seems she is very particular and pristine about her appearance in general: when wearing uniform she has her skirt just above the knee and tie straightened unless it’s evening time. Her mouth is very small and cruelly pursed; she tends not to smile very much. At weekends she dons her usual expensive designer labels, particularly having a great love for furs and cashmere in the winter seasons. Slender and well-poised, she demonstrates that she has a very high opinion of herself and a not-so-high opinion of others.
face claim: Katie Griffiths- - - - - - -
likes: Appraisal, warm and dry weather, winning, muggle fashion, flavoured ice poles, drooble’s gum, playing quidditch, getting good grades and cleanliness
dislikes: Being different from muggle friends, precipitation that goes sideways, being under pressure, thick gloopy food, disorganisation, blood slander, really pretty girls and having a chipped nail
strengths: Determined, good quidditch player, potions classes, organised and punctual
weaknesses: Overly competitive, snobby, boy-shy, showing her real emotions and impatient
dementor: Her little brother, Charlie, was very ill and in hospital when they were younger. Brooke remembers the sickly stench of bleached hallways and believing the very worst would happen: she hardly ever shows her emotions in that way.
boggart: Failure
mirror of erised: Being ceremoniously adored, surrounded by fortune and seeing others weeping at her glory
amortentia: Tutti-frutti gum, masculine scent, old parchment and lavender
veritaserum “I sometimes just give people detention so I don’t have to be lonely for the night and can watch them suffer” and “Sometimes I hate being muggle-born and wish I was born into a wizard family”- - - - - - -

history:Shortly after her brother Charlie was born, their Mother had completely abandoned them without leaving a single trace. Brooke was too young to understand the catastrophe, being only two-years-old at the time; but she distinctively recalls in her earlier years witnessing the woe of her Father. The man had broken down. Without much concern over a shadowy, blurred figure in a doorframe which she couldn’t pin a face to: even as a toddler all what Brooke wanted was for her Father not to be upset. Many years passed and the initial shock wore off, and George later confessed that she: “enjoyed running” and it was “probably for the best”. They were planning on marriage but clearly, Cecelia had gotten cold feet.
Brooke’s father is an uncommonly kind and gentle man, with a life filled with money and luxury. He has what others would call a great life, but he suffered immense pain from his ex-partner Cecelia and doesn’t trust people anymore. Now flat and cold to most, he expends all his existing love into his daughter and son. Brooke loves her Father immensely.
They live in Cambridge, England: a bountiful place of exquisite countryside, city life and the home of the most prestigious education known to the isle. While it boasts being one of the most affluent areas, it is therefore a haven for snobbery. Brooke’s Father is exceedingly rich and adorns his daughter in expensive clothing, but like her dear old man; she isn’t a materialistic in the slightest. They have money, yes, and good social status but they are jinxed. Her Father solemnly believes that their riches have only brought misery.
Growing up was enjoyable and effortless. Both Brooke and Charlie attended private schools with select pupils: so really it was only the other children on their neighbourhood who attended. Bright and determined, she seemingly adored everything around her and made lots of friends. Of course, things changed quite rapidly for her.
There had been no indication of Brooke having any magical powers to speak of, where usually younger witches and wizard of pre-Hogwarts age showed unusual signs. There was only one unexplainable occurrence; and this happened when Charlie had been submitted to hospital and was undergoing kidney transplant. Having no Mother never particularly affected Brooke: she only felt bitterness to someone who crippled another’s feelings. But strong-willed Brooke had cried seeing her brother in hospital. She had felt a desperate, most inexplicable need to be by his side and take away the torture his body was putting him through. It came at the simplest touch. Brooke had unintentionally charmed her brother into waking after the operation, regaining senses almost immediately. It dumbfounded the doctors as well as her, and it was that following week that the letter came.
Going to Hogwarts was difficult. Brooke was used to being with other girls and boys her own age who were richer than rich. She found the stark, cold eyes of wonderment gaze over her from the other children; drinking in her elaborate fashions and thick, fur coats. A lot of the pureblood-and-proud bunch wanted to put her in her place immediately. The beginning years were very difficult for her, but she projected herself through: determined not to be beaten back by other people. Unfortunately, this gave her a lot of incentive to start hating on others for ridiculing her, so through the years she has got more and more stuck-up.- - - - - - -
