--- So wouldn't you like to come with me
Surfin' the sun as it starts to rise
Woah, your gravity's makin' me dizzy ---

HOLLY AUGUSTA LONGBOTTOM
The ticking clock resonated it’s sound throughout the mostly vacant library, evening was beginning to fall and most students had gone back to their dormitories to prepare for dinner. All save one student, a certain mop of curly ringlets peaked out over the top of the giant book Roxanne Weasley was currently engrossed in. Parchment littered the table she sat at, there fallen brethren crumpled at her feet covered in scribbled out lines and ink blots. What had possessed her to even think of taking arithmancy for her one of her opted subjects would always remain a mystery, she hated the class, almost as much as she hated homework. Three rolls of parchment was a definite joke, the professor was to evil. She had so many better things to do with her time, her eyes settled on the reddening sunset through the tiny window. It would have been a perfect night for photographs, but here she was stuck figuring out numbers and sequences.

history:
Holly Longbottom was the third child born to Hannah and Neville Longbottom on a chilly November day. Her family home was so filled with love and protection and some of Holly’s earliest memories are of playing with her older siblings in the garden. She’d always been quite the inquisitive child who loved nothing more than picking flowers and following the ladybirds and bumble bees that filled the garden during the summer. Often she’d sit in her fathers lap listening intently as he told her all the names of the plants that flocked the garden. As she grew older and her family continued to grow Holly was delighted to find that a younger sister joined the family.
The rest of her childhood went without much complaint, it was common for the Longbottom’s to visit both the Weasley’s and the Potters during whatever time her parents found away from their busy schedules, which meant Holly was surrounded by friends from an early age, and more importantly friends her own age she could play properly with. There was one incident however when the family visited Diagon Alley, it was for her sisters Hogwarts supplies when something caught her eye, letting go of her mothers hand she wandered out of the shop and into the busy street. The crowd instantly swallowed her and as she tried to find her way back she became helplessly lost.
Finally after what seemed like hours, and with dried tears marking a trail down her face she was found by her father, she can never remember feeling so relieved in her entire life. She was safe and even though she was in a serious amount of trouble she didn’t care as long as she could cling to her mother. The only major incident after that, was the day Holly discovered her powers, she was picking pea pods in the garden and as she concentrated deeply on the pod, she made it open and close.
When Holly finally received her Hogwarts letter she couldn’t stop smiling for days, finally she was going to prove to everyone that she could be a great witch, even if it meant ignoring her older sibling’s tall tales of horrible teachers and detentions. She was ecstatic and she couldn’t wait to see everything, though she made sure to make her parent’s promise to write to her as they said goodbye on the train, she may have been eleven but she still needed to hear from them, a lot.
After arriving and being sorted into Gryffindor Holly began to enjoy her life at the castle, she made a number of friends and did average in her studies, her favourites were of course, herbology - something she truly inherited from her father - and astronomy, and her least favourites were transfiguration and arithmancy. Now in her sixth year she's having a of a reality check in regards to her studies and hopes to channel all her efforts into achieving decent grades in her NEWTS.- - - - - - -

Finally she drew to the end of her paragraph; for a moment she sat in stony silence, contemplating her next move. Her teeth nibbled the bottom of her lip as she was lost in thought her grip loosening on her quill, and in almost absent minded movement, she let the quill drop from her fingers, dropping ink droplets across the dark mahogany desk.
“For goodness sake...” she mumbled, swishing her wand and removing the stains. A fine for a new desk would be the icing on the cake of such terrible evening. She needed a break, anything, an escape, something that would keep her from falling further into a mundane induced form of madness. Roxanne pushed her chair out and jumped up, smoothing down her creased uniform. Her restless legs were ready to explore the rest of the library, she was sure she’d need another source book anyway and a well deserved break suited her just fine.
