Lucy Weasley was a light sleeper by nature, so when her dorm mates decided it was a good idea to have a gossip session at an ungodly hour in the morning, it was no big surprise that she woke up almost as soon as they started giggling. Sighing quietly, she blinked the sleep from her eyes, one of her hands dragging up from under the covers to shove her mane of auburn hair from her face as she looked around at her bleary surroundings. It took her a few moments to figure out what had woken her up, but as soon as her she laid eyes on the group of girls gathered on the floor, everything clicked into place. She really should have been used to their impromptu get-togethers and might even have started joining in had she not been who she was… but their gossip really didn’t interest her. They were always talking about which guys they wanted to bang, the hottest people on the Slytherin Quidditch team, (who she knew well), or being a damned nosy nuisance. Most of the time, she was able to smile silently as they made goo-goo eyes over their latest conquest, but on that particular night she just wasn’t in the mood. They’d had a pop quiz in Charms that she was sure she failed, and she’d almost blown herself up during practice because she wasn’t concentrating on the game! To her discretion, her distracted behavior wasn’t entirely her fault… she had a lot going on, (or that’s what she kept telling herself), and her sleep patterns were all over the place.
She waited for about ten minutes to see if the girls’ gossip session was going to wind down, but it soon became apparent that they were only just getting started. Sighing heavily, Lucy kicked her green and silver comforter off of herself, her sock-clad feet hitting the floor with a soft thud as she got up and padded out of the dormitory. The redhead wasn’t entirely sure where she was going, but she figured anywhere would be better than her chatty dorm room.
As she made her way down the corridor towards the common room, she considered her options; she could either stay in the common room until they were finished talking, or leave the common room and risk getting caught out of bed after hours. Normally, she’d go with the latter option, but she figured with her recent streak of bad luck that risking getting a detention wasn’t worth it, so the common room it was.
The redhead stopped as she reached the entrance to the common room, her eyes briefly scanning over the room in order to assess whether or not there was anyone else there. After a quick inventory of the room, it appeared she was alone, and she allowed herself to be distracted. She settled her gaze on the bright green windows, a small frown settling across her features as she studied them. It was strange to see it looking so bright at night, but she figured it must’ve been the result of a bright moon… or something like that. Shrugging she took one last look around the common room before smiling, biting her lip as she took a running leap over the back of the nearest couch, expecting to land in the comfortable embrace of the soft, leathery cushions. She was quite shocked to discover that whatever she landed on was definitely not leather, or even couch... apparently she wasn’t the only one that decided to take a midnight trip to the common area. Squeaking slightly, she shoved her hair out of her face, trying to see exactly what or whose lap she’d landed on with the green glow from the windows. ”Er…” She muttered, her hair falling in a sheet around her as she squinted down at the person in question. "Hello?"
