On nights like this Isabella just couldn't sleep. The stars were beckoning through the window and they sounded much more pleasing then the memories hidden in her dreams. The young woman had tried to not bother her roommates with her tossing and turning but she eventually couldn't help it. Who cares if they heard her. Maybe if they were awake then they could entertain her. Better yet Kian would be even more entertaining. Why hadn't she thought of waking him earlier? Opening the curtains surrounding her bed Isabella slipped her feet into her slippers. After making sure that her toes wouldn't freeze too badly in the cold she bent to rummage through her trunk. There had to be something she packed that would be nice for this nightly event. Sure enough hidden under some broken quills and one of her old shirts was just what she was looking for. Grabbing a blanket and her prize Isabella slipped out of the room hoping that none of the other girls would hear her leaving.
Whoever decided that ladies could go into the gentlemen's rooms was her favorite person. Because now she could bother her guy friends without having to try to fight her way to the door. Wrapping the blanket around herself Isabella shivered. The night might be beautiful but it was bloody cold. Finding the right door wasn't hard but finding the right bed was harder. She couldn't remember which one was Kian's and it took her a few sneaky peeks past the curtains to find her best friend. When she finally found the right bed she jumped onto it. Isabella didn't care who heard the noise because now all she was focused on was waking the sleeping boy in front of her. Poking Kian in the stomach Izzy smirked. Waking him up could be fun. "Kiii, Ki bro wake up. I am bored and I want to play." Poking him again Isabella pouted. "Don't make me start tickling you. Or better yet I could just set these firecrackers off in your bed. Though it would be much more fun if you got your butt up and to the top of the tower with me." She whispered while poking him in the face. Wasting some good fireworks would be sad so he better wake up soon.

KIAN had had a busy evening. He'd been assigned twice the usual amount of homework, which resulted in him going to bed three hours later than he'd originally intended to. Once he'd finally thrown himself onto his bed with a hum of contentment it didn't take long before he fell into a deep sleep. He'd been having a nice dream (his Nimbus had turned into solid chocolate and he owned a swimming pool filled with pumpkin juice) when he received a rather rude awakening. His dreaming self started to drown because he got stomach cramps from eating his broom right before diving into the pool - which would have been amusing, really, if it hadn't brought upon a flashback of his childhood near-drowning experience. The sudden negative memory forced Kian awake, as he sat up and emitted a small, startled gasp. His eyes gazed hollowly at the end of his bed for the few seconds it took for his breathing to regulate and his eyes to focus.
THAT was when he realized his best friend, Isabella, was hovering over him. She'd obviously been poking him in the stomach to get him to wake up, which would explain the abrupt turn of events in his dream. "Izzy, go away," he grumbled loudly when she started poking at his face instead. The sixth year boy flopped back onto his mattress and pulled his comforter over his face to escape the prodding. "You know I'm not ticklish. And if you set my bed on fire one more time then I'm giving you detention. For a week." He was so tired that he didn't bother whispering, but his blanket muffled his voice well enough that it wasn't a problem. He was so tired, in fact, that despite his bad dream and Izzy's poking, he was already drifting back asleep within seconds of closing his eyes. Kian knew he wouldn't be left alone for long, of course, but the few moments of blissful silence before he was dragged into the usual shenanigans was definitely worth it.

Glaring at Kian Isabella blew a raspberry at him. "I have only done that once. At school." Firecrackers were just the most fun way to wake people up. Which was probably why they were now banned from being in the Finnigan house. Though if her dad did see that she had some he never said anything to mother. That was the nice thing about having another pyromaniac as a parent. Flopping down on top of her best friend Isabella pouted again. "You know you love me too much to give me detention for that long." Rolling around she tried to squash the boy with her body. Which was hard considering how much larger Kian was than her. Sitting up she poked him again. "It won't take long and then you can go back to bed, Sleepy Head. I didn't bring that many with me this time." She whispered to the prone form before opening the bed curtain.
Sneaking towards the bedroom door she leaned against the door jamb. If she waited long enough he was bound to come. Even if he didn't she would head off by herself. Maybe she could make it even more of a trip and go to visit Beast. It was a great thing that she didn't need that many hours of sleep or else she would not have as many nightly adventures as she did. On the other hand she would just have slept more in her classes if she was sleep deprived. Which would be sad event because now that she was able to choose most of what she took Isabella loved her classes. Folding her arms she started to tap her fingers. Maybe if she slowly started getting louder he would get up faster.

IT took about all the energy Kian could muster not to snort at that statement. He'd lost count of how many times his own bed had been set ablaze, especially if you included the times he'd stayed at the Finnigan residence where there were multiple pyromaniacs. "Once is plenty enough, thanks. My roommates hated you after that, and my bed-curtains smelled of smoke for a month, remember?" he retorted. The other boys had gotten over their hatred eventually but were still extremely wary anytime Isabella barged her way into their dormitory; he couldn't really blame them for it, honestly. Just as he was about to open him mouth and say something else, Kian felt a sudden weight atop him as his best friend literally rolled around on him. "Oi!" Kian pushed up slightly with his hands to nudge her upwards in the hopes that she'd be caught off-guard and roll off the bed.
WHEN that didn't work he simply sighed and grunted in response to all the rest of her comments. He had his fingers crossed that if he ignored her long enough she'd go away - if not, then he hadn't completely been joking about giving her detentions. Kian was always grumpy when he woke up, even moreso when he'd only gotten a few hours of sleep. Even if it was Izzy he still wasn't past threatening her with scrubbing toilets for a week if it meant he could get his sleep. He almost made good on his word too, except he didn't see the point in protesting now that he was fully awake. Having a person roll all over you tends to accomplish that, even if the person is seventy pounds lighter than you. The young man heaved another sigh, louder this time to make sure Isabella could hear him from across the room.
HE managed to drag himself out of bed a few seconds afterwards, bringing his blanket along with him. Thankfully he'd worn proper pajamas to bed for once instead of just boxer shorts, so if they ran into anybody he wouldn't be embarrassed about his attire. His sneakers were shoved unceremoniously onto his feet before he shuffled over to his companion and muttered something along the lines of, "Let's go." If nothing else, he assured himself, he'd be able to make sure Izzy didn't get herself into more trouble than she needed to. Most of the professors and other prefects were used to her restless nighttime trips by now, but it would be good for him to be there to bail her out should the need arise. After all, what were friends for if not blowing stuff up at ungodly hours and getting you out of trouble?
