SPECIAL ABILITIES
here is where you can claim your characters special abilities! there are a limited number of spots for each ability, so please check that the ability you want your character to have has an open spot. any canons with special abilities, (e.g. edward lupin as a metamorphmagus, or victoire weasley as a part-veela) automatically have a spot.
there is no code for this part, so just post your characters name and whatever ability you want them to have!
--- ANIMAGI ---
an animagus is a witch or wizard that can morph themselves into an animal at will. this talent can’t be inherited, it must be learned. the process in which you have to go through to become an animagus is a long and difficult one. your character must be at least fifteen to be an animagus. when choosing the animal, please keep in mind that being something like a fish or snail wouldn’t be particularly helpful.

--- LIGILIMENS ---
someone who practices legilimency is known as a legilimens. these people are capable of navigating through another persons mind to find what they want. it's a difficult skill to master, and not many have been known to. this skill is learned, not inherited. your character must be sixteen or older to possess this skill. -- -- --
--- METAMORPHMAGI ---
a metamorphmagus is a witch or wizard that can change any aspect of their physical appearance at will. however, they are not capable of morphing into full animals as animagi are. metamorphmagi are relatively rare, and their powers are said to be inherited. however, it is possible to be born with this skill without anyone else in your family possessing it.

--- OCCLUMENS ---
occlumency is what wizards and witches use to protect themselves against the prying of legilimens. people who successfully practice occlumency can close their mind off, making it impossible for legilimens to access their memories and thoughts. this skill is learned, not inherited, and your character must be sixteen or older to possess it.

--- PART VEELA ---
veela's are a race of semi-human, semi-magical creatures that are very similar to the sirens in greek mythology. they are incredibly beautiful, but when angered become little harpys. a part-veela is someone who has veela blood in their family. although they don't make the transformation from beautiful to bird-like monster, they do have a very strong allure. they can tone it down or up, but just like anyone else, they can have difficulties controlling their allure. the less veela blood they possess, the less powerful their allure is. this is inherited, not magically gained.

--- PARSELTONGUES ---
parseltongues have the power to speak to snakes. this skill is inherited, although it is possible for non-parseltongues to imitate the sounds parseltongues make. this is a very rare skill, so please keep that in mind before giving it to your character.
-- fay bellatrix lestrange --
--- SEERS ---
there are only a handful of real seers in the wizarding world! seers are able to receive prophecies, make predictions, read tea leaves, and see images in crystal balls. although some of these skills are taught in divination class, only true seers can receive prophecies.

--- WEREWOLVES ---
werewolves are witches or wizards that, upon the complete rising of the full moon, transform into fearful beasts. over the years, wolfsbane potion was created that allows the witches and wizards to remain in control during the transformation. if werewolves reproduce, there is a chance the the child will inherit the disease, however it is more likely that they will be contaminated by their mother or father when older.
