Mischief in the Morning (Open)

Ooc: Sorry this took so long. Finally got a post for you, Ditzen!

Albus normally didn’t have too many animals in his own home. He knew is parents kept a few owls, even his father once kept a white owl named Hedwig, but she did not last that long for Albus to meet him. Most of the owls were used to send notes back and forth from school in order to talk back and forth. Since Lilly was starting to lose touch with their parents, Albus was the one who kept his parents up with the updates on the family. James was out of school and now old enough to take care of himself. He visited his brother on the weekends in Hogsmeade when he could and both of them had nothing to do. It was a nice way to kill a weekend when they had some free time. Plus it’d get Albus out of Hogwarts and away from the stress that was in school.

As Albus turned, he looked back seeing that another girl was walking beside him. He thought he had managed to get past any of the students asking questions about how his ferret had gotten loose but it was clear it wasn’t the case now. The girl seemed to be a younger student than him, they weren’t in the same grade, and Albus hadn’t recognized her that much. Maybe he had seen her before, but this might have been the first time he actually talked to her. He knew many of the names in some of the years, but he hadn’t talked to them before. That was the case this time.

He still held onto the ferret and kept him from biting him accidently or on purpose. Since the ferret was still annoyed that it had his chance to escape and it looked like that chance disappeared. He could feel the fur that the animal had and it wasn’t anything like cats fur, it was different in a way. A bit wire and thick but it still kept the animal warm when the nights and days got colder. The girl seemed to be immediately on his case about how he managed to get a ferret into Hogwarts, and he was sure that other animals had been allowed in for now. The other day he had seen someone with a pair of doves so it shouldn’t have come to be that of a surprise. And from the sounds of it she was trying to play the hero for Gryffindor. Well Gryffindors and Slytherins never got along it was a tradition that had been around since the founding members of the houses had been in. It also hurt Albus a lot, since his brother and sister were both in Gryffindor while he was not. That meant he wouldn’t see Lilly as much now.

“I thought they changed those rules awhile ago. I saw someone with a flock of doves a few days ago. This isn’t my father’s time in Hogwarts where you could only have certain animals.” Albus said as he tried to defend himself. “Anyways my parents gave it to me when I was leaving for school in my first year. He normally stays in his cage someone probably thought it was funny to let the ferret get out and let him loose. You should be satisfied now, since I’m bound to have detention if one of the teachers found out.” Albus said. He didn’t mean to have a harsh tone but it was the truth. Now he was just concerned on getting his ferret back into its cage and locking it this time maybe with a spell so he wouldn’t get loose again. Albus had on his mind now getting back to the Slytherin Corridor as he began to walk down the hallway tracing a familiar route that he had always taken in the past to get there.
