History of Magic had to be one of the most boring classes in the whole, entire world. Not only did the teacher drone on and on and on about things nobody cared about, but the classrooms atmosphere was so dreary that one had to find a way to entertain oneself without using something in the room. For example, there were no posters or interesting cages anywhere in the room, like the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. And you couldn’t read any part of the textbook, like in Divination, as it was just as dull as the teachers lecturing. It wasn’t anything like Herbology either; there were no interesting plants or potentially deadly things to deal with. For someone like Charlie, classes that didn’t involve anything of interest were usually the ones she did badly in. She just couldn’t bring herself to concentrate or stay focused. She smiled slightly and began to pack up her bag, looking up at the clock as the final minutes ticked away.
She was one of the first out of the classroom when the bell rang, swinging her bag over her shoulder and jumping from her seat. Charlie was in a pretty big rush, and she bounded down the stairs, running as fast as she could for her common room. Wednesday’s after classes were the days she reserved for self-pampering. The sixth year had a free period during the last class of the day, and she often spent them in the prefect’s bathroom soaking in a steaming hot tub. It was a nice way to unwind from all the stress she had to deal with, (homework, people confusing her, what clothes to wear when out of her uniform, why bumble bees could fly… all that complicated stuff).
The dormitories were completely empty as she flew into them, dumping her bag by her bed and hastily shimmying out of her uniform. She pulled an old sweatshirt from her trunk, scattering a few fruit roll ups as she went. Charlie pulled it over her head before grabbing a pair of leggings and stepping into them, grabbing her book and cinnamon scented bubble bath before rushing out of her dorm and into the common room. She paused for a few seconds, adjusting her shirt before continuing out into the hallway and towards the staircases. The prefect’s bathroom was a fair ways away from the Hufflepuff common room, but it was well worth the walk.
It was a magnificent place, gleaming marble floors and a hundred gold taps that winked at you under the light. Charlie let out a soft, content sigh as she entered the large room, slowly making her way over to the swimming pool sized tub that was set in the floor. She’d used it enough to know which taps did what, as well as her favorite ones. She knelt beside the tub, reaching forward and turning on a few different taps; one just normal hot water, another spurted thick frosty white sheet of foam, the third soft lilac colored bubbles and the fourth a light haze of cinnamon scented fog. Charlie grinned, standing back up and moving over to the pile of towels in the corner. She grabbed two, bringing them back to the edge of the tub. Just as she was about to start changing, she heard the door swing open, startled, she turned towards the door, her eyes wide as she waited to see who the intruder was.
