Perhaps a trip to the forest wasn't a good idea after all. Everything was perfect at first. Bast had some free time on her hands (quite a rare thing for a teacher as busy as her) and she didn't feel like relaxing. It wasn't that her tent was uncomfortable, quite the opposite really. Her tent, thanks to magic, was very spacious. About as big as a small house with all of the comforts a house should have. A bath, lavatory, a nice kitchen,, two floor, three bedrooms, and even a bit more. No, it wasn't the place she considered home but just her body and mind wanting something different. So, off to the forest she went.
And here she was. Regretting the excursion entirely. She quietly wished that she brought either of her pets with her but, alas, she left them at home. Now, it wasn't some hungry, wild beast wanting her for a snack or centaurs, accusing her of being too close to their territory. Bast would have preferred either of those situations than the one she was in right now. What caused her such torment was a snake. An injured snake. Well, an adder to be exact.
The pureblood had stooped down to peer at it and was wondering what she should do. She didn't want to heal it for the animal taking a small conversation with her. She was still way too close to Hogwarts grounds to risk it. Someone could see her and find out her precious secret. On the other hand, the witch was torn between that and her sense of justice. The thing didn't deserve to be left for dead when it had the chance of living again. She could hear it saying its soft, dying words. 'Pain. Pain. Dying. Dying.' "Oh, screw it!" Bast grumbled and gently murmured to the injured adder in its tongue. "I'm here to help. Don't bite me, I'm just here to heal you then I'll set you free." She carefully picked up the snake, brought it closer to her, then pulled out her wand to preform a simple healing spell. Its wounds were simple but in deadly places so she went slow. All the while murmuring encouraging words. "Just a bit longer friend. Just a bit longer."
