W A T C H M E D O I T - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - acapellaIt was finally a nice day, with shining sun. While the warm weather was here, Corey decided to try and make well of it by going down to The Black Lake. So, she packed up her homework, putting it away in the trunk at the end of her bed, threw on a sweater and headed out.
Though it was a bit windy, the sun's warmth took away almost all of the cold. The last week or so had been awful weather wise, so most people were out and about today. Corey saw some students in the courtyards reading, or practicing some of their spells. She had been thinking of doing that, but decided that venturing off to the lake would be a better idea.
By now she was completely in thought, and looking at her feet as she walked. When she looked up, Corey realized she'd walked all the way there without even thinking about it. She laughed lightly to herself, and smiled. The sun was reflecting off the lake's small waves, making for a beautiful sight for her eyes.
Corey found a spot by the edge of the lake, and sat down. Looking up, she watched as the clouds formed shapes, some known and some unknown to her. It was quiet, peaceful, and by Corey's definition, it was absolutely perfect. That was, until she got interrupted.
The first thing she heard was footsteps. After that, as the person got closer, she heard the crunch of the earth under their feet. She rolled her eyes, she'd hoped to be alone here. Unfortunately, since the lake was public, she couldn't ask anyone to leave, officially. If it was up to her, she probably would have met them halfway on their journey and told them to turn the hell around. But hey, at least she'd have the opportunity to make a new friend.

Albus threw his potions’ book the side. It slid against his sheets and landed onto the floor with a small thud. This was ridiculous. Studying? It was nonexistent in the life of Albus Potter. If he did average in class he was fine. But with his recent realization of being someone big and good, he needed to boost his abilities and marks. It was all a good idea at first. Then he started the studying and he was done. How was he going to get through this? Especially when the day was so nice? Albus looked at his ceiling. He needed to get out of here, this place was closing up on him.
Albus jumped out of bed. He went to his trunk and grabbed a pair of fitted jeans. He pulled them over his orange boxers before grabbing his accessories. Albus was not shy. He walked around his dorm in his boxes and a shirt majority of that, he slept like that and quite a few times he would walk into the common room like that. He had nothing to hide and it didn’t bother him at all. He slipped on his watch, pocketed his wand and slipped on his shoes.
Albus had no idea what he was going to do now, but he wasn’t sticking around the dungeons. The brunette ran a hand through his hair, making it a mess. That was his bad habit. He did all the time, when he was thinking, when he was upset, when he was nervous, even when he wasn’t feeling anything at all. It was one of his habits.
He climbed upstairs and looked around. Everyone was pretty much minding their own business, they were all enjoying the day. One time Albus will admit they were thinking properly. The brunette looked around. His bright blue eyes landed on the Great Hall doors. Outside! It was the perfect place to be. The boy placed his hands in his pocket and headed out the open doors.
Albus let himself go wherever his legs carried him. He had nowhere he needed to be so he continued. He soon found himself near the black lake. It was one of the best places at Hogwarts. It was large and held adventure. But Albus never went after that adventure. He just stuck to his father’s stories. The boy looked around when his eyes landed on a familiar head. He tilted his head a bit before continuing on forward. He continued on until he was right behind the girl. He decided to take a seat right behind her putting a leg on each side of her. He then wrapped his arms around her. “Corey, love, how are you?” he kept his arms around her.

W A T C H M E D O I T - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - acapellaAt first, she didn't think to look behind her. Then all at once someone was sitting behind her and was wrapping their arms around her, which she interpreted as a hug. "Corey, love, how are you?" She jumped a bit as a first reaction, and then laughed at the familiar voice. So, she wouldn't get to make a new friend today, but hang out with her best-friend. "I'm good. I'll admit that you just scared the complete crap out of me, though. For a second I thought a complete stranger had the nerve to sit down behind me and give me a hug."
She turned to face Albus, smirking, "They would have been slapped, probably," Corey wasn't afraid to say it, because it was the truth. If some stranger had done what Albus had, they would have gotten a good slap, right in the face, instead of a smile. "Anyways, how are you? It's nice out today, at least. I figured you couldn't stay in and study, either."
Not that he did study, she knew all too well. Alby was one of the least studious friends she had, but hands-down, he was the best. Though, with school being hectic and frantic, they hadn't really gotten a chance to hang out lately. She put the thought of being alone out of her mind, since she realized being with a friend was probably better - and better for her, in a social aspect.
"And by the way, a little birdie told me you've been hanging around Dahlia Nott lately.....," she raised her eyebrow, "is there something you'd like to share?" Knowing Alby, he'd probably joke with Corey about it before she got a straight answer, so she figured it best to ask now, so she could find out sooner; and her curiosity would be subdued - for the moment, at least.

Albus chuckled at her reaction. “If a total stranger did that, I would have knocked the crap out of the person. I’m the only one who gets to hug you.” Albus was sort of attached to Corey. She was the only one he was completely open to and silly with. They somehow were able to click. Albus was not going to let go of that. So while he acted like a total goofball and odd child, he also treated her like a princess and a person making sure he wouldn’t drive her away. It was odd being Potter in Slytherin. Nobody really knew what to think of him.
Albus was now facing Corey. She moved her position so they were face to face. He dropped his arms and leaned back on his hands. Thank goodness he was not the stranger, Albus got slapped enough for hitting on girls at Hogwarts, he wouldn’t be able to live if Corey went around slapping him as well. He shook his head. At least she could take care of herself and he wouldn’t need to worry about her too much. “I’m brilliant.” He said truthfully. He had no reason yet to be upset. He was caught up on homework and so far, being Head Boy wasn’t as horrible as he made it out to be. “Yeah, it is a bit difficult to keep me inside huh?” he laughed.
Dahlia Nott. Now where they hell would she had gotten that from? Albus could feel his cheeks get a bit warm. Sure he was always hitting on girls, but none were really worth mentioning. And then detention happened and Dahlia was sort of thrown into his attention. Though that was all that happened, detention with the Nott girl, Albus’ thoughts were stuck on the brunette. “I have no idea what you are talking about.” The brunette shrugged his shoulders.
Knowing Corey, she was going have him broken down soon. But he was going to stall as much as he could. Even though Corey was his best mate, he still had trouble talking about that sort of stuff. He didn’t have a whole lot of luck with girls, he was still immature about that subject. He was a complete romantic, but he always messed things up or well, he was a Potter in Slytherin, no one knew what to expect from him. Was he good, was he bad? There were a lot of questions.

W A T C H M E D O I T - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - acapellaCorey giggled, "Right. So we both would have had violent reactions....," she paused, giggling some more, "well that's just perfect. I'd say we're two of the absolute nicest people in the world, just for that." She, as usual with Albus, wasn't afraid to say anything on her mind. He and Corey had just bonded one day, and "clicked", if you'd say it that way. After that, they kind of stuck with each other and have been best-friends ever since.
She smiled, nodding, "Well that's good. Actually, kind of great," she faked a frown, "unfortunately some of us, meaning me, are only good and not brilliant. But then again, others, meaning you, have special privileges such as being head boy. So, how's that going?" As usual, she was bombarding with questions. Mostly to keep Alby distracted while she thought of a way to pry the information about Dahlia Nott out of him.
"Yes, it is. You're always outside. How the hell can you stand to be out here in the freezing freaking cold sometimes, when I could put ten thousand layers on, walk out on a day like that, and be an icicle?" Corey threw in a joke, hoping to increase her chances of less stalling, which she assumed probably wouldn't happen anyways. "Then again, I'm tame and not completely wild. So that could make a difference," she laughed lightly, smiling.
"But hey now, nice try! I figured you would try and change the subject when I brought up Miss Nott," she raised her eyebrow again, still smirking, "and I suppose your wondering where I heard all this? I am friends with her brother, Damien, you know. He's my study buddy and he does keep me filled in." She smiled, trying to keep from laughing again. Honestly, she was pretty good friends with Damien Nott. But she was about to laugh because she doubted Albus would believe her, and her comeback was already stirring in her mind, "You see, I've got you all figured out, Albus Potter," she giggled lightly, still smiling.

Albus was definitely known for his temper. He had done this quite a few times, gotten into a few fights because he couldn’t control his anger. He had his father’s temper and the Weasley temper too. But he also had the impulse his mother had as well. It was not a good combination, and it definitely proved Albus was their child in some sense. “We’re just logical.” He laughed. Yeah they both described a possible reaction and both happened to be violent. They were perfect for each other. “I’m a charmer, come on, nice as hell.” That was definitely an ironic thing to say.
Albus laughed and gave a cheer. He did have special privilages. But he was definitely planning on sharing them with his best friend. They use to be always together keeping each other on a leash and making sure the other doesn’t get too crazy. Even if they were both going seriously crazy sometimes. “Well other than being big time babysitter, I get to stay out late and not get in trouble.” He grinned. Detention… Dahlia Nott… His mind came straight back to Corey, the current brunette in front of him. “But don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about you. We are definitely going to have some late nights.” He wiggled his eyebrows. It had a double meaning but only meaning was really meant, them getting into trouble.
“Well there is a spell that makes your clothes stay warm, which is one way I can stay outside. And they made you, a Ravenclaw.” He teased and shook his head. It was a joke. Most people didn’t put magic into such mundane things. Albus seemed to be the only one. But living half muggle and half magical helped with that. He scoffed. “And I’m tamed and not completely wild… Yeah that’s a complete lie, couldn’t even keep a straight face.” Albus held a large grin on his face. He was definitely a bit hyper at times and sometimes didn’t know how to act in public.
Albus looked the girl in front of her up and down. Friends with the twin. Well played, well played. But Albus wasn’t going to budge. Well that was until an idea popped in his, “Wait she talked about me to her brother? Do you know what she said?” The kid became eager. It was always nice to know what was going on, especially when said Nott was stuck in his brain. Albus’ palm went to his forehead. The Ravenclaw caught him. “Bloody hell, you’re good.” He muttered into his hand. She really did have him figured out. He couldn’t believe it until that moment. “What do you want to know?” he continued to mutter into his hand.

W A T C H M E D O I T - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - acapellaCorey smiled again, giving Albus a friendly punch on the shoulder, "Well hey, thanks for sharing that spell with me when it's twenty below and I'm practically freezing to death! Some best-friend you are," she said sarcastically, laughing, "yeah, logical....or the opposite of logical. Also known as crazy."
She smiled, "Oh don't you know it," Corey said as Albus mentioned one of his head boy perks, "bad idea, us two late at night. We could burn the whole of Hogwarts down....now that would be a sight, wouldn't it?" She smirked, giggling again. "And no, there is no chance in hell I would believe that you're what so ever tamed, Alby. But that's probably what drew me to you in the first place, and why we can get along so well. Opposites attract, ya know."
Like normal, Corey was dissecting about every piece of their conversation. She often over thought things, making them seem like much more than they were meant to be. But one thing was for sure - she was not over thinking the situation between Dahlia Nott and her best-friend, just because of the way his face turned red when she'd first mentioned the other Slytherin.
"Speaking of logical," she smirked once more, "it was logical to become friends with Damien first, no? Just kidding....I'm pretty sure I knew him long before you and the other Nott were even a possibility....which you are. And when I'm done telling you how to be....not childish and silly, you shall have your Princess Nott, my friend." Corey just wished she wouldn't have to explain to Albus how she'd actually met Damien, since he really frowned on her party-and-hook-up lifestyle.
She raised her eyebrow as he asked if the other girl ever told Damien anything about him, "Oh, so we are interested," she laughed lightly, adding, "oh come on. You know me well enough! I want to know everything so I can help you get the girl! Which you could by yourself, ya know. If you actually behaved for once. But that's not going to happen, is it?" She asked, laughing and smiling again.

“Now if I told you the spell, I’d never get Corey cuddle time.” He pointed to his head, “See I think about these things and the excuses I need in life.” He nodded. Maybe all the effort be put towards pranks and excuses were put towards his studies, he wouldn’t have to try so hard to be good at school. But to him it wasn’t worth it, he liked his silly moments and excuses always came in handy. “Are you calling me mad, woman?” The boy gave her a look before busting out laughing. Albus was a bit mad, but he had to be to survive living in the Slytherin lair.
“I know it and I use it like crazy so far.” The boy commented. He was definitely going to get something out of this stupid position. He questioned it every time he was required to babysit or do rounds. Of course he never really did a good job on either, but still, being Head Boy needed to have perks for Albus to go along with it and he was pretty sure the professors knew it to. He just wondered if they were going to do anything about it. That definitely a thought. Albus agreed with her completely. There had to have been something to bring the two together. Albus was a wild child most of the time and Corey seemed to put him in his place majority of the time. He even remembered some of the professors wishing Corey was in class to calm Albus down.
Albus gave her a look, “Funny. Actually Damien doesn’t mind me all that much. We’ve shared a dorm for the last seven years and I’ve never had a problem with him, and he doesn’t seem to mind me.” He stuck his tongue out at Corey and shook his head. Him and Dahlia, a possibility? That would have been something. But Albus barely knew the girl. They had one encounter together. There wasn’t a needed to go crazy over it. But seeing how Albus had bad luck in this area, he needed as much help as he could get. He just wasn’t going to admit that to Corey just yet. “Princess Nott, ha ha, funny Corey.” He rolled his eyes dismissing what she said.
But he couldn’t hide it any longer. He was founded and Corey wasn’t going to leave it alone, that much he knew. Albus dropped onto his back and covered his face with both his hands now. “I never said anything about getting the girl Core.” He mentioned peeking through his fingers. He then shook his head violently to her question. “If I have to change, she’s not worth it mate.” He muttered again. He didn’t want the whole needing to behave thing. Even if he actually showed a great difference of maturity at the end of his sixth year. “But I do need to avoid getting slapped.” That was the usual response he would get.

W A T C H M E D O I T - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - acapella"Awww! Aren't you so trying to save your butt?!" She laughed along with her friend. She talked it, but Corey didn't think she could ever truly be mad at Albus, and if she was, it wouldn't be for long. "Sweet, though. Sweet." She laughed again when Albus asked if she was hinting at him being mad, "You know, I think I was. Got a problem with that?" She winked at him, still smiling and laughing.
So, she was finally going to get some answers on whatever was happening with Dahlia Nott. She was a bit surprised when Albus mentioned that he and Damien were dorm-mates. She'd never thought that as a possibility, because she didn't honestly picture Albus as a Slytherin, and she probably never would. "Oh, so you do know him. I see....well, I sure as hell didn't meet him by being his dorm mate," she tried to start thinking of a comeback right away, but came up blank.
"Anyways, so, with Dahlia....," she paused, thinking of how to word her next statement, and sighed, "you don't have to change....that's not what I meant....," she paused, again thinking. Sometimes explaining to her friend how to behave was a puzzle in itself, "what I meant was that if you didn't have sharp remarks and don't get her into trouble - which you are awfully good at - she'd probably just fall for you then. So your part in getting the girl would be like, completely easy!"
She laughed, smirking, "Hey now! If you're the only one who gets to hug me, then I'm the only one who gets to slap you!" Oh if only it were true. She knew that, unfortunately, Alby was probably slapped alot by girls. He tried to be a sweetheart, it just didn't work out for him.
She sighed, "Oh goodness. How is it you were sorted into Slytherin six years ago? I mean, come on, you just don't have the personality. Frankly, I don't think you could ever be as mean as some of the people in that house, Alby," Corey sighed again. She'd always wished that Albus had been put into Hufflepuff or, better yet, Ravenclaw, because she just didn't feel like he belonged in Slytherin, and she was pretty sure he felt - at least a little - the same way.
